CEFoodCycle goes Lange Nacht der Forschung

Jun 12, 2024

Austrian circular economy pioneers were presented at this year’s Lange Nacht der Forschung.

On May 24, 2024, the Lange Nacht der Forschung – an Austria-wide educational event – took place, during which the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences opened its doors to the public. At 22 stations, complex scientific topics were presented in an accessible and entertaining way. Over 800 visitors had the opportunity to take part in hands-on stations, workshops, experiments and lectures.

The CEFoodCycle research project was also prominently represented and presented innovative companies and projects that prevent or upcycle food waste and thus bring it back into the food cycle. Visitors were guided to the three stands of the Department of Business & Tourism through a quiz rally. As a reward, visitors were able to enjoy home-grown plants and sponsored products from WOERLE and GENUSSKOARL. Both companies are characterized by their sustainable circular economy thinking by innovatively processing food waste or by-products, thus effectively avoiding waste.
