Productive mockup-testing for catering | Alpes-Maritimes

Aug 1, 2024

On July 22nd, the Circular Food Hub Alpes-Maritimes invited 8 café, hotel and restaurant owners to test the IDLCASS/foodcycle.ai mockup.

The productive meeting yielded a lot of feedback:

  • The majority of catering establishments told us that the IDLCASS mockup did not offer the option of selecting a time period in the “PRODUCT” category. Example: “I produced 300 kg of bio-waste over one week, so I select the quantity of bio-waste produced over the period in question”.
  • In addition, in the “PRODUCT” category, some CHRs (Cafés, hotel and restaurant owners) have told us that they are unable to select the type of bio-waste concerned. The CHRs would like to be able to select different units of measurement: kilograms, litres, m3, etc.
  • In the “POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS” category, CHRs pointed out that they did not know whether they could contact bio-waste treatment professionals and whether their bio-waste collection and sorting services were free or not.Depending on the services offered by bio-waste treatment professionals, the IDLCASS tool should be able to indicate the prices offered so that HWCs can select services in line with their budget.
  • In the same vein, it would be appropriate for the tool to also offer qualified contacts between Nice’s CHRs and service providers based on the quantities of bio-waste produced, but also on the geographical location of the CHRs and bio-waste treatment professionals. (Implementation of a geolocation system
  • Although the IDLCASS mockup offers solutions for the collection and recycling of bio-waste, some restaurants and caterers who have tested the mockup have told us that they would like us to recommend solutions specialising in the fight against food waste. Example: TOO GOOD TO GO
  • Unanimously, the Nice CHRs would have liked to be able to test the IDLCASS chatbot so that it could recommend professionals specialising in bio-waste treatment according to their budget, their location and the quantities of bio-waste produced.
  • The majority of restaurants, cafés and hotels that tested the IDLCASS mockup were surprised and a little disappointed that the tool did not yet offer contact with service providers specialising in bio-waste management.
  • For many of them, the design of the IDLCASS mockup is not yet complete. They feel that it lacks a modern feel, is not intuitive enough and the navigation can sometimes leave something to be desired
  • Finally, a number of catering establishments have told us that they would like to be able to use the IDLCASS tool (POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS category) to find service providers who can help them find biowaste collection and treatment solutions tailored to their needs.
