📣 It’s flax week in Val Müstair — and we’re almost there!
🎉 We’re excited to take #AlpTextyles to this special celebration of the flax and linen textile heritage of the Canton of Graubünden and Südtirol | Alto Adige | South Tyrol.
👥 First, we’ll be attending a series of stakeholders meetings on the revitalization of the shared textile heritage of the area with the participation of our very own Cassiano Luminati / Polo Poschiavo, plus Diego Rinallo / emlyon business school, and Katarina Šrimpf / ZRC SAZU – Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
🌲 Saturday, October 12th, we’ll join the second edition of the Brächete festival, the autumn event that celebrates and revives the long-standing tradition of the collective processing of flax harvest. In the past, a Brächete took place in every village, and the flax processing was a social occasion. This year, too, Val Müstair’s weaving mill Tessanda will host the celebration, contributing to keeping the tradition alive.
