🌄 AlpTextyles at New European Bauhaus Days in Ljubljana, Slovenia! 🌄
We’re thrilled to have been part of the New European Bauhaus Days at the Faculty of Design, bringing together experts to shed light on the textile heritage and sustainable future of the Alpine region. The event, wrapping up today, featured a series of insightful lectures and roundtables designed for students, diving into some of big deep-rooted questions in the textile industry — from historical and aesthetic perspectives to circular economy solutions.
đź’¬ AlpTextyles participated with three lectures by our research project partners:
Textile Heritage of the Alpine Region – Dr. Katarina Šrimpf (ZRC SAZU – Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts) guided us through an ethnological-historical journey of Alpine textiles, weaving together cultural significance and tradition.
Textile Chains in the Alps: Sustainability and Circular Economy – Markus Lambracht (FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg) shared key insights on achieving sustainable, circular textile production within the Alpine context.
Aesthetics of Textiles in the Alpine Area – Davide Alesina Maietti (Istituto Marangoni) presented on how the distinct aesthetics of Alpine textiles continue to shape modern design.
