- October 2023, Ljubljana (Slovenia): MOSAIC was present at the workshop organized by the Slovenian Forestry Institute on how to manage forests for improvement of protective function against the risk of torrent flows and landslides (87 participants on site, 400+ participants online). Milan Kobal from the University of Ljubljana presented MOSAIC project and its first. Based on the inputs from the keynotes, the professionals from the field of forestry and torrent management discussed the guidelines for adapted management of forests in torrent areas with emphasis on 1) measures for the management of forests in torrential areas to strengthen the protective and hydrological function of forests, 2) measures to reduce risk of wood drift in torrential areas, and 3) measures for the construction and maintenance of forest roads in torrential areas.
