On October 23 and 24, 2024, the University Medical Centre Maribor hosted the kick-off meeting of the HACK-IT-NET project. This ambitious initiative, co-funded by the Interreg Alpine Space programme, brings together partners from Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, France, and Switzerland. The project aims to foster a transnational network to advance knowledge transfer and innovation in the health sector across the Alpine region, leveraging green and digital technologies.
Over the two days, participants worked collaboratively to lay the foundation for the project, which will span the next 36 months. Discussions focused on three main areas:
1️⃣ Capacity building for technology transfer and innovation, to develop tools and models that enhance the adoption of innovative solutions in healthcare.
2️⃣ Testing and piloting innovative solutions, with real-world implementations planned through initiatives like CAREavan, PolicyParley, and STEMLab, aimed at strengthening sustainable and digital healthcare systems.
3️⃣ Dissemination and capitalization of results, ensuring the solutions developed are effectively shared and adopted across the Alpine region for long-term impact.
Workshops further explored target groups in the healthcare sector, delving into areas such as health policy, innovative treatments (e.g., AI-driven approaches), and strategies for improving healthcare systems.
This successful kick-off marks the beginning of an inspiring collaboration to tackle healthcare challenges through innovation, benefiting the entire Alpine region.
