The blueprint is a strategic document that defines an approach for the Alpine Region for the creation of a shared research and innovation agenda, through prioritisation of R&I topics for the activation of a transnational synergic and complementary collaboration.

The Alpine Research and Innovation Chart (Short: Alpine R&I Chart) aims on presenting an action plan for transnational cooperation network among academia and business sector representatives with the goal to strengthen AR Research and Innovation.

The aim of this Policy Brief is to provide public administrations (PAs) of the Alpine macro-region (AR) recommendations to enhance transnational and transregional collaboration in research and innovation (R&I), with specific emphasis on the Smart Specialization Strategy (S3/RIS).

The ADO project aims to create an online platform for drought monitoring and forecasting with specific indicators for the Alpine Space region. The purpose of this report is to assess user requirements related to the ADO platform.

Drought may affect a range of environmental and socio-economic sectors. Assessing a region’s risk to drought requires knowledge about the type of adverse impacts that have occurred as a consequence of drought in the past.

Droughts are becoming an increasing concern in the Alps and in the lowland areas that receive Alpine water. The Alpine Drought Observatory (ADO) provides a tool for a quick and easy overview of the current drought situation in the Alpine region and past drought situations in the last 12-48 month.

This compact report gives an initial overview over the examined three value chains of apples, walnuts and herbs/hay and their bioeconomic potentials. In addition, also a replicable roadmap is presented to make an own value chain analysis easier.

Several reports present 6+1 new eco-innovatice business model blueprints which aim to implement new products and services in the value chains of apples, walnuts, and herbs in the market. In addition, good and bad practices of existing eco-innovative business models etc.

Seven eco-innovative business models developed in the AlpBioEco project and best practices are presented in this report, showcasing how bioeconomy can look in practice.

The regional policy implementation guidelines present recommendations for the implementation of selected eco-innovative business models in several Alpine Space regions, promoting their implementation and the growth of bioeconomy.

The final report gives an overview about the AlpBioEco project, summarising all the project activities and results. The project focused on the valorisation of innovative bio-economical potentials along bio-based food & botanical extract value chains in the Alpine Space.

In the pocket guide “Identification Handbooks for non native trees in the Alpine Space” we describe 49 non-native tree species, that occur in forests, peri-urban and urban areas in the Alpine Space.

Non-native tree species (NNT) are used in forestry across the Alpine Space for their growth performance, valuable timber, and resistance to drought and pest or pathogen damage.

The Database on Non-Native Tree Species was developed as a concept and prototype by the ALPTREES project in 2022 as part of a project undertaken for the Sustainable use and management of non-native trees in the alpine region.

The Web GIS tool has been implemented as a Google Earth Engine App (see: https://earthengine.google.com) to share policies, tools, and technical guidance for the management and responsible use of NNT.

The overall objective of the transnational strategy is to improve knowledge-based decision-making and communication on the responsible use and management of non-native trees in the Alpine Space.
