Interact and the 12 Interreg transnational programmes are working on a new series of joint articles addressing the local impact of transnational cooperation in Europe. This week, our joint article in collaboration with Interreg North-West-Europe “Facing the Storms Together: Building Resilience Against Weather Extremes in Germany,” was published.
Flash Floods and Cascading Risks
As climate change knows no borders, transnational cooperation plays a crucial role in building resilience. In Germany, flash floods have proven to be a recurring hazard, requiring focused attention and collaborative solutions. This is why the Interreg North-West Europe project FlashFloodBreaker and the Interreg Alpine Space project X-RISK-CC are both working on the topic.
Benefits of transnational cooperation in the Alps – facing storms together with hope and a vision
Through X-RISK-CC, Interreg Alpine Space is supporting efforts to better understand the cascading risks of extreme weather events, by integrating scientific knowledge into risk management practices. The project aims to improve how communities respond to and prepare for such challenges. To learn more about the project, visit the project website.
