Today, the Lombardy Presidency of the European Strategy for the Alpine Region EUSALP has been presented to the press at the Associazione Stampa Estera in Milan. ERSAF, Lombardy regional body for agriculture and forests, has welcomed journalists and politicians with a buffet of typical products, from Bitto cheese to Salami.

ERSAF is working with the Alpine Space Alpfoodway (www.alpfoodway.eu) project to promote the petition to inscribe Alpine Food Heritage in the UNESCO representative list of the intangible heritage of humanity. This heritage includes production techniques, traditional conservation methods as well as consumption rituals. 

The UNESCO recognition of Alpine Food Heritage will be one of the themes addressed by the Italian EUSALP presidency, officially starting with the kickoff meeting on February 28th, which will focus especially on sustainability, green economy and youth.
