On September 23, in the context of TranStat project, INRAE in partnership with Grenoble Alpes University, organized a conference in Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse – Le Planolet Living Lab, one of the pillars of the traditional mountain economy: agriculture and pastoralism.
The evening provided an opportunity to find out more about the specific features of this sector in the region, its wealth, its issues and its challenges in the context of climate change.
What changes are underway and what are those to come? How can we adapt? What examples and lessons can we learn from observing other regions? What links can be made between agriculture, pastoralism and tourism?
Thanks to presentations by teams from the Parc Naturel de Chartreuse and researchers from INRAE working on the Alpages Sentinelles project, and the rich exchanges with participants, they were able to explore all these questions.
A way for the TranStat project to fuel reflections on the future of the region, and to encourage the emergence of a shared culture of transition.
