The DIVERSE project officially launched with an energizing kick-off meeting on October 29-30, 2024, in Munich, gathering partners from across the Alpine Space to set the stage for a groundbreaking approach to sustainable bioenergy. This event, hosted by the Italian-German Chamber of Commerce (ITALCAM), was filled with collaborative activities that brought project goals to life and established a strong foundation for the upcoming work.
Day 1 was dedicated to exploring the project’s mission: fostering biodiversity-friendly bioenergy practices and integrated strategies that align with the unique needs of Alpine ecosystems. The team-building activities and in-depth workshops sparked dynamic discussions on piloting sustainable solutions and creating impactful outcomes that balance bioenergy production with biodiversity conservation.
On Day 2, participants visited SYPOX, an innovative startup that has developed a method to convert biogas into hydrogen with twice the efficiency and at a fraction of the traditional cost. This visit underscored the potential of advanced bio-based technologies to contribute to a low-carbon future, while also aligning with EU sustainability goals. This field trip was an inspiring demonstration of how the DIVERSE project is bringing together cutting-edge bioenergy innovations with ecological sensitivity to pave the way for a sustainable energy mix.
A special thanks goes to Aleš K. for their support and to all partners, observers, and stakeholders involved, including #AG2, #AG6, and #AG9. Together, we’re laying the groundwork for an impactful journey ahead!
