In March 2025, one of the most important meetings on our region’s path to hydrogen use and production took place. Very important partners have come together to prepare an investment concept for a hydrogen production project on a site in the Tezno industrial zone in Maribor.
ENERGAP, the Regional Development Agency for Podravje, the Styrian Chamber of Commerce, the Municipality of Maribor, the public company Snaga (public waste management company), the Tezno Business Production Zone and the international company Messer were present at the meeting. All stakeholders agreed to proceed with the project. They agreed to prepare the necessary investment documentation.
It is very important that Messer, a company with several years of experience in the field of gases, has come on board. In the first phase, hydrogen production is planned in the region, which Messer is able to purchase and, if necessary, transport. All options will be explored on the use of hydrogen at the production site.
