New Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Guide Released

Apr 17, 2025

The Cradle-ALP project team is excited to announce the release of our new guide on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) titled “A Beginner’s Guide to Life Cycle Assessment (Without Panicking).” This guide was created in collaboration with Magdalena Winkler, MSc, who contributed significant findings from her award-winning master’s thesis titled “Measuring Circular Economy – the Role of Life Cycle Assessment and its Status Quo in Companies,” written at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria Campus Wels.

The guide provides a comprehensive introduction to LCA, specifically aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It clearly explains the four phases of LCA: goal and scope definition, life cycle inventory analysis, life cycle impact assessment, and interpretation of results. The guide demonstrates how LCA can help identify environmental hotspots and achieve sustainable improvements.

One of the key features of the guide is its practical approach, offering valuable support in selecting the right tools for conducting LCA. It includes helpful tips on choosing the most suitable software and effectively communicating the results.

The guide is now available for download in english. We invite everyone interested to check out the guide and benefit from the valuable information it offers.

Stay tuned – italian, slovenian, german and french language versions of our LCA-guide are coming soon!
