The new innovation centre at the Cleantech Innovation Park in Hallstadt was officially opened on 12 February 2025. The event took place in the presence of around 300 representatives from local and regional political institutions, business, universities and research centres.
The Cleantech Innovation Park was created on the former site of the Michelin tyre factory and covers an area of 24 hectares. Since its foundation in 2022, it has served as a hub for innovation and transformation, particularly in the areas of sustainable mobility, raw material and material efficiency, as well as artificial intelligence and digitalisation.
The newly opened Innovation Centre offers a flexible infrastructure that is specially tailored to the needs of companies and research institutions. Here, players from science and industry can work together on forward-looking projects and develop innovative solutions. The design of the building was developed in collaboration with large companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), universities, institutes, and the public sector as part of a design thinking workshop.
The SME AI Experience Centre is also represented in the Innovation Centre. With its demonstrator system, it offers small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) the opportunity to gain practical insights into the application of artificial intelligence in production processes. The aim is to support companies in the implementation and utilisation of AI technologies and make it easier for them to access innovative solutions. Through its presence in the Cleantech Innovation Park, the centre can test new use cases in direct collaboration with partners from research and industry and further strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs in the region.
With the opening of the Innovation Centre, a significant step has been taken towards strengthening the regional economy and promoting sustainable technologies in Bavaria. The Cleantech Innovation Park now offers optimal conditions for the development and realisation of innovative projects and makes a significant contribution to the transformation of the former industrial location.
We are proud to have been part of such a significant day as ECOLE partners.
