ReGreen Festival in Croviana: A Unique Occasion to Let Ideas Flow!
The keywords of the last three days were connectedness and connectivity: the connectivity of ecosystems through the connectedness of ideas.
Starting watching “The Salt of the Earth” on Friday evening, in collaboration with the Association Cinéma du Desert, the ReGreen Festival offered an intense program of workshops for both kids and adults. These workshops introduced the main idea of the FRACTAL project: all of us can contribute to expanding the Green Infrastructure (GI) network! Particularly noteworthy was the workshop on solitary bees conducted by Nicola Orempuller, a member of the BugsHotel Ita group, which was both interesting and scientifically significant.
On Saturday, we welcomed a special guest: Prof. Telmo Pievani from the University of Padova. He highlighted the role of biodiversity in the future of the Alps and reminded us of Article 9 of the Italian Constitution, a cornerstone of nature conservation. The evening concluded with great music, vegan food, smiles, and conversations.
Sunday morning featured a wonderful walk in the woods around Mmape, where Chiara Rizzi and Lucio Sottovia introduced the concept of biophilia. Marina Clerici and Justine Wemp discussed ecofeminism and the diversity of people and species, in a session expertly moderated by Franca Zadra. During the open discussion “Biodiversità in pratica,” the team from Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta and Rete di Riserve del Fiume Brenta presented model GI actions. Additionally, the president of ‘Apicoltori della Val Rendena’ reported on the innovative pollen analysis project conducted in Val di Genova. The mayor of Sfruz shared his bold decision to legally protect part of the municipality from intensive agriculture.
Now that the festival has concluded, we can proudly say it was a wonderful experience!
Special thanks to MMape for hosting us and for their invaluable support in organizing this event. They have been the best partners in crime!
