We’re proud to highlight the inspiring collaboration between Stiegl brewery and easyVEGAN, recent recipients of the CEFoodCycle Award, which celebrates impactful approaches to sustainability and circular food systems. This innovative project transforms spent grains—a by-product of beer brewing—into plant-based burgers and balls, exemplifying best practices in how food waste can be valorized into delicious, nutritious products.
Beatriz Hoffmann-Kuhnt from the CEFoodCycle Project team in Germany (Hochschule München) visited Stiegl brewery with a film crew to capture footage, witnessing the commitment to resource efficiency that makes this project truly unique. “It was incredible to see their dedication to sustainability in action. This partnership shows how industry collaboration can create meaningful change in the food sector,” Hoffmann-Kuhnt shared.
By supporting projects like Stiegl and easyVEGAN, the CEFoodCycle Project is highlighting best practices for repurposing food waste and by-products into valuable resources, setting new standards for responsible and innovative food systems, and advancing sustainability across the entire food supply chain.
As we continue our journey, stay tuned to the CEFoodCycle Project for more updates on how sustainability and circularity are shaping the future of food.
